Ian’s experience in advising of clients ranges from very small businesses to medium sized, family controlled limited companies of £50M turnover.  

Covering executor and trustee work, auditing and all areas of taxation he is the founding partner of Morris & Co in Cheshire as well as being a partner of Turner Peachey since 1977.

During his career Ian has held senior posts in the Chester & North Wales and Liverpool Societies of Chartered Accountants. He has also been Chairman of the General Practitioner Board;  Disciplinary Committee; and served on the Practice Advisory Board and the Professional Standards Directorate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales (ICAEW). He was a member of the Council of the ICAEW from 1984 to 2009 and was President from June 2005 to December 2006.

Outside of posts held within professional bodies Ian is currently Vice-President of Chester Business Club, Vice-President of Chester Music Society and Chairman of the Executive Committee and Vice-Chairman of Governors at Rydal Penrhos School, Colwyn Bay. He has also been actively involved in the National and International Committees of the English-Speaking Union of the Commonwealth.


A family man who (sometimes) enjoys spending time with his eleven grandchildren and their parents, Ian plays the organ and piano, sings and lists gardening, watching rugby and cricket and sailing catamarans and a Wineglass dinghy amongst his hobbies.
